How can i use tofu in recipes and as a sub?

I have one box of firm tofu, one box of extra firm. How can i use them? Can I sub them for the oil called for in baking recipes? How can i use tofu in recipes and as a sub?
Tofu is a solid; oil is a liquid. Tofu isn't a fat or shortening ..... so, no. I like to slice extra-firm into 4 thick slices; rub with olive oil; sprinkle with salt, pepper, oregano %26amp; rosemary and BBQ on all sides until golden. You can cut either into pieces and add to chili, soup or even spaghetti sauce. It may act as a slight thickener.... It's also good in stir-friesHow can i use tofu in recipes and as a sub?
Tofu is very low fat and I have used it sucessfully as a substitute for sour cream or yougurt in recipes for cakes and to make up for the sour I just add a teaspoon of lemon or lime juice depending on the taste that would be preferred. It makes a poor ';fat'; substitute though. You can marinate use as you would meat. The web is full of Tofu recipes and you can just type itin as an ingredient in any recipe site (recipe zarr or all recipes.com for example) and just experiment. I cook with tofu often and have found the Japanese recipes more flavorful but it is a matter of preferance. Hope this helps!
Tofu can be used as a meat substitute in many recipes, You can brown it before putting it in spaghetti, etc. You can put it in soups and salads. It won't work as a substitute for oils in cooking.
puree it %26amp; add it to thicken soups, sauces, hummus

cut it into chunks, marinate in asain sauce %26amp; add to stir fry
