Has anyone got any tasty tofu recipes please?

im sure there are loads to be found on line but id like to know your own favouritesHas anyone got any tasty tofu recipes please?
I like to make tofu-katsu... the tofu version of the Japanese Tonkatsu (usually make with pork).

First you drain some firm (preferably fresh) tofu, cut it into cubes and then roll in flour. Then roll again in a bowl of soymilk or egg substitute and then again in panko (Japanese breadcrumbs). Then deep fry them until brown and serve with bulldog sauce (that's just a name by the way... it's actually made of fruit and veg!)

Or I make a Japanese style casserole with a mixture of conbu/seaweed stock, miso paste, mirin and soy sauce. I pour this over various veg and tofu in a casserole dish and put in the oven.

Tonight I made a creamy pasta sauce with silk tofu... just blend together tofu, parsley, basil, salt, garlic and soymilk to thin. Heat in a pan with some mushrooms and spinach and pour over pasta.

Lots of people don't like tofu but it's my favourite food... it's so versatile and does wonders for your health. And those that say it has no taste obviously haven't tried good tofu. There are so many different types in Japan... it's just that here in the west, good tofu is hard to come by.Has anyone got any tasty tofu recipes please?

Very Easy %26amp; Yummy, my 11 year old makes this:

Sweet Garlic Tofu

Cut up firm tofu into cubes and brown in a small amount of olive oil. Once browned, add 1 or 2 garlic cloves, chopped fine and brown for a couple more minutes. Then, add 1/4 cup of organic brown sugar and stir well. The sugar melts and carmelizes with the tofu.

That's all. Very simple and Oh So Yummy!

i was looking for tasty tofu recipes as well this weekend! i searched and found this delicious recipe for bbq tofu ';ribs';

but i added a tiny bit of cayenne pepper to each ';rib'; to make them a little spicy and it came out fantastic

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb extra firm tofu

Olive oil for brushing the tofu strips

Salt %26amp; pepper to taste

Your favorite BBQ sauce

PREPARATION:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Drain the tofu and wrap in paper towels. Place a baking pan on top of the wrapped tofu and a heavy can on top of the pan to drain as much water from tofu as possible. After a few minutes, replace the paper towels with new ones and repeat the process.

Cut the tofu into 1/2 inch slices. Then cut into strips.

Place the strips on wire racks and brush with olive oil and season with salt %26amp; pepper.

Place wire racks on a baking pan and bake for 35-45 mins.

During the last 10 minutes of baking, brush them with BBQ sauce.
I have a simple way of preparing it...in a bowl, add:

1 block of chilled tofu, cut into bitesize pieces (drained)

Top with (approximate measurements, adjust to taste):

1/4 cup bonito flakes

1/4 cup green onions, chopped fine

1/4 teaspoon red pepper or chayenne

1/2-1 tablespoon kikkoman soy sauce (lite is ok)

Enjoy.

There's a lot of delicious oriental recipes like soups and stir-fries that use tofu.
