Have any good recipes for tofu that is good for a new vegetarian?

Here's something I like to eat for breakfast

you drain and crumble the tofu up and fry it (you don't need oil if you use a non-stick pan).

add these seasonings to taste

garlic powder

Onion powder

Vegetarian Chicken flavor stock (McKay's chicken seasoning works best if you know where to find it)

Nutritional yeast

a dash of pepper

a dash of soy sauce

Note: the soysauce and poultry seasoning are salty, so you should be carefull how much, and you probably won't need to add salt.

While Tofu is simmering with those ingredients, chop up a little bit of tomato, dicing it pretty small. You will add this when the tofu is almost DONE, because adding tomato can cause something that's cooking to stop cooking.

When tofu is almost done, add diced tomato and some salsa (my favorite is original Pace Picante Mild)

Let those last two ingredients cook into the tofu for a few minutes.

Put tofu on warm tortillas and add a dab of sour cream (or vegan sour cream) and more salsa if you want

I call it my ';Southwest Style Scrambled Tofu';

I like it anyway!Have any good recipes for tofu that is good for a new vegetarian?
Every summer, I like to make a Polynesian salad called 'gado gado.';

The salad itself includes iceberg lettuce, spinach, mung bean sprouts, cucumber, cooked eggs, blanched green beans (or snow peas), and tofu. You get extra-firm tofu, press it to remove as much moisture as possible, then cut it into cubes and sautee it in a non-stick pan (no oil!), tossing often over medium heat until all cubes are browned on most sides.

For the dressing, mix 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter and 1/2 cup milk over low heat until blended, then add hot pepper sauce or cayenne pepper to desired level of heat. Sauce may be used hot or cold.Have any good recipes for tofu that is good for a new vegetarian?
You can make ';tofu steaks. Take a thing of tofu, slice it into 2 pieces or 3, and marinade in teriyaki sauce for at least 4 hours, if not more. Then broil for a few minutes on each side. You can use any kind of marinade you want but it is pretty good with the teriyaki sauce.
Greetings.

I'm not a fan of fried tofu. But I know the soft one is very good to add to cream soups or sauces as a substitute for cream.Or in cheese cakes with less cream cheese. It thickens it nicely and tastes real creamy.Try using your Yahoo recipe finder or MSN diet. sites to check up on lots of recipe ideas.

Good Luck good eating. Don't forget your vitamin mineral capsules.Ciao Lynda
Using them in a veggie stir fry is good. They just take on the taste of the veggies and sauce the sauce you use to flavor it with. You cube up the ';firm'; tofu toss it in a stir fry sauce like ';House of Tsang'; ( Found in most grocery stores in the Asian food section) to absorb the flavor, then stir fry with broccolli, onions, garlic, carrots, mushrooms, celery whatever you like. Then put over cooked rice.
